Kulachi Hansraj Model School, started in 1972 now stands tall at 38 in 2010 with a glorious past, a precious present and promising future. Over the last 38 years, Kulachi has come a long way. It has established beautiful traditions and embarked upon new ventures. It is a living monument, breathing symbol of the ideals of Maharishi Dayanand Ji and Mahatma Hansraj Ji. From a humble beginning in the rented accommodation of Arya Samaj building in Ashok Vihar, Ph-I the School has made phenomenal progress and has carved out its place as a premier institution on the educational map of India. It has 7500 students on its roll and more than 350 qualified and dedicated teachers. "To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield" is the guiding philosophy of this institution. Innovations and experimentation with new situations have taken this institution to such heights that it has become a pace setter. Quality is not a mere profession but an obsession with us. Excellence is a continuous process with us. It is a place where all children grow, not just in size, not only in knowledge but in curiosity, courage, confidence, independence, resourcefulness, resilience, patience, competence and understanding. The vast campus of KHMS branches out at several places in Ashok Vihar dividing itself into the Senior, Primary, Nursery, Day-Boarding, Kulachi Manovikas Kendra, (a special School for mentally and physically handicapped children) Dayanand Adult Education Centre for illiterate women of the neighbouring area, Bal Saksharta Kendra for the poor children of J.J. Colonies and Nav Chetna for school dropouts.

Headmistresses supervise the various school blocks, which consist of several large buildings, under the overall guidance of Principal, Mrs. P. Datta.
The seeds of our ideals (Honesty, Integrity and Goodness) are sown in the Nursery stages and nurtured in the Primary and Senior wings.
In order to give the students exposure to a whole range of experience the school is equipped with upto date Science Labs, Computer Labs, Art & Craft Rooms, Music & Dance, Library & Reading Room, Physical Fitness center etc. The school also has Multimedia labs and a very spacious auditorium and conference room for multifarious activities.

Our Nursery - The Strong Foundation

The Nursery wing is housed in a beautifully designed building to make education an enjoyable experience for the budding learners. The school is equipped with ultra modern teaching and growing facilities. The focus is on activity- based education with smart class rooms together with the celebration of cultural events & festivals with zeal and enthusiasm. It is a home away from home for the growing child. Keeping the child in mind, the school provides such delightful experiences such as a toy train ride, a colur full splash pool, a variety of indoor/outdoor games under the watchful eyes of the teachers.
The students are made aware of things happening around them through Multimedia Demonstrations: Computer, LCD's Slide, projectors, O.H.Ps and Tape recorders are used for presentation. There are many activities designed to help our little ones to gain confidence in structured conversation, learning and recitation, rhymes, story narration etc. The child's inborn talent is enhanced by certain activities like painting, clay modeling, free hand drawing etc.

Primary Wing

The Primary classes from I to VI are housed in a separate building at Phase-I, Ashok Vihar. Since we consider each child to be a prizewinner, the school makes all efforts to spot the talent and nurture it in every young learner. Together with academics the seeds of our ideals (Honesty, Integrity and Goodness) are nurtured here. The students learn to cope up with their regular syllabus together with a variety of activities like art and craft, music and dance, photography, clay modeling, instrumental and vocal music, games and sports, debates and dramatics. Smart Class-rooms and multimedia labs are set up to make studies more interesting and effective. The multimedia labs have latest CDs regarding different subjects taught in the school.

Kulachi Hansraj Manovikas Kendra

The DAV College Managing Committee is the biggest NGO in the field of education. It was in August 1992 that the DAV Society had embarked on an ambitious project that envisaged the setting up of a centre to provide special education, and to extend a caring hand to the mentally, hearing as well as physically handicapped children. Manovikas Kendra, a school for children with special needs is a part of Kulachi Hansraj Model School, Ashok Vihar Delhi. Since the time of its establishment it has emphasised to reduce the disparities and to provide equal educational opportunities to all.

Senior Wing

The Senior Wing of Kulachi comprising of classes VII to XII, is in a spacious building at Ashok Vihar, Phase-III. The main torchbearers of the school are the students, who over the years, have repeatedly demonstrated meritorious qualities in the fields of academics & co-curricular activities. The school atmosphere is harmonious and relaxed. The morning assembly in the school sets the tone for the whole day. Talk on moral values, patriotic songs and hymns are supported by news highlights and other house activities and special class assemblies.

Day Boarding

Started in 1994, the day care centre has been structured into a colourful informal, search- oriented education experience for tiny-tots. The best of Montessori play way method have been adopted for the overall development of tiny-tots. There prevails a secure, healthy, affectionate, loving, caring and joyful environment constantly keeping in mind the fact that the seed of personality development are sown at this tender age and the concept of humanity and sharing with each other are introduced at this age. The day borders are not given any homework nor do they carry school bags and lunch boxes. They are provided with fresh fruits, milk, snacks etc. The dining room and the retiring room are particularly spacious and well ventilated as also the rest of the school building. To keep the children entertained, there is an aquarium and special arrangements for puppet shows, and cultural Programme etc are made. The Kindergartners are encouraged to take an active part in all the activities, competitions and cultural programmes.
